"Guren No Yumiya" Rendition Performed by Nursery School Kids

Are we sick of the Attack On Titan opening theme, Guren No Yumiya by Linked Horizon yet? Besides the sea of MAD videos, different versions and Linked Horizon performing the original song at the prestigious Kohaku Uta Gassen at the end of 2013, I thought there would be no more Guren No Yumiya performances, but I was wrong! Check out the cutest Survey Corps performers at Koyo Nursery School dancing to the song on stage!

The perfomance by the boys in the 4-year-old class was first posted on December 18, 2013, from the end of the year Otanoshimi-Kai at the nursery school in Oita prefecture. The cartwheel scenes are amazingly adorable! The school posted other performances by the kids including Doki Doki Pretty Cure on their YouTube channel, too.

The results of AKB48 group's big team shuffle!

On February 24, AKB48 group's big team shuffle "AKB48 Group Dai Sokaku Matsuri" was held at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo.

One of the biggest surprises was that AKB48's "official rival" group, Nogizaka46 member Ikoma Rina would join team B. Ikoma will continue her activities as a Nogizaka46 member, but will also be in team B as an "exchange student." It was also announed SKE48 team E member Matsui Rena will also hold a concurrent position in Nogizaka46.

Also announced was that they would launch a new "vice captain" system for the whole teams in 48 group in which each team would have both captain and vice captain ("leader" and "vice leader" for SKE48.)

A soon-to-be graduate member Oshima Yuko attended the event as a commentator, and she could not stop large tears rolling down her cheeks, saying, "I didn't graduate yet, but this is the first event I didn't participate..."

Regarding the new team K, she made a comment, "I want to join them too! This will be a quite an interesting team."

When all the announcement for the team shuffle was ended, Takahashi Minami who will continue serving as the whole 48 group's general director, spoke her mind, "I was taking it too lightly. I did not expect the members coming apart this much, and I am shocked. Both members and you fans need some time to think, so I would also like to have some time before comprehending this."

Oshima then continued with tearful eyes, "I just want everyone to try their hardest. Though we will be in a different position and environment, I want all of you to create your own future as the way you are. Whenever you feel discouraged, please just come talk to me about anything. I will support AKB48."

Below are the new teams after the team shuffle. *The teams in parenthesis are the previous ones.

Veteran Executive Successfully Steered Company Through Key Transformational Period

Warner Music Group (WMG) today announced the retirement of Kei Ishizaka from his post as Chairman & CEO, Warner Music Japan. A 46-year veteran of the Japanese music industry, Ishizaka joined Warner Music in 2011, having previously served in senior executive positions at Universal Music and Toshiba-EMI.

While at Warner Music Japan, Ishizaka spearheaded the success of new artists such as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, one of the most popular acts in Japan today. At the same time, he has helped continue to build the careers of established superstars such as Superfly, Kyosuke Himuro, Tatsuro Yamashita and Kobukuro.

In making the announcement, Lachie Rutherford, President, Warner Music Asia Pacific commented: “Kei is one of the most accomplished and widely respected figures in the evolution of the modern music business in Japan, and his impressive contributions have played a pivotal role in shaping the country’s popular culture for more than four decades. Kei expertly led Warner Music Japan through a key transitional period in the company’s history, and he has set it on course for a bright and prosperous future. All of us at Warner Music deeply appreciate Kei’s tremendous contributions to our company, and he will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of working with him.”

Kei Ishizaka noted, “It has been a true honor to oversee Warner Music Japan for the past two and a half years. It is a company with a rich history and a tireless devotion to serving its artists. I am proud of all we have accomplished in building Warner Music Japan’s reputation as a progressive home for outstanding artists, as well as laying the foundation for the company’s growth for many years to come. I want to thank Lachie for being an invaluable partner and the entire WMG global team for their wonderful support.”

Ishizaka will become Honorary Chairman of Warner Music Japan on April 1st, and will continue in that role until the end of October, in order to ensure a smooth transition to new leadership. Warner Music Japan is due to make further announcements about its leadership in the coming weeks.

Prior to joining Warner Music Japan, Kei Ishizaka was Senior Advisor and non-Executive Chairman for Universal Music Japan. He joined the company in 1994 as President, Universal Music Japan (then PolyGram K.K.), rising to President/CEO in 2001 and becoming Chairman and Chief Executive in 2006. Under Ishizaka’s leadership, Universal Music LLC (Japan) made history in 2008 by becoming market leader for the first time since its formation over 50 years earlier.

Ishizaka has been a board member of the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) since 1999, becoming Chairman in 2007, and then holding the role of Senior Advisor. In 2009, the Emperor of Japan awarded him the Medal with Purple Ribbon in recognition of his contribution to the recording industry. Before his tenure at Universal Music, Ishizaka was at Toshiba-EMI for 26 years. At EMI, where he rose to Executive Director in 1991, he worked with international legends including The Beatles and Pink Floyd as well as local superstars such as BOOWY and Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi.

Better late than never: Il Divo sings classic Japanese songs

$

In July 2013, Il Divo recorded a NHK charity song for The Great Eastern Japan Earthquake relief, titled “Flowers Will Bloom (original Japanese title: Hana wa Saku )” in English. And it has been released on iTunes in August 2013.

The charity song “Hana wa Saku” was born for a purpose to support the recovery of afflicted areas and the victims of The Great Eastern Japan Earthquake in 2011, and has been used as the theme song for “NHK /The Great Eastern Japan Earthquake Relief Project”. Its lyrics are written by the famous film director (winner of Berlin International Film Festival) Iwai Shunji, and composed /arranged by the acclaimed Japanese songwriter and the pianist, Kanno Yoko. Both songwriters are from Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, which is one of the afflicted areas from the disaster. In addition, its English lyrics were written by Roger Pulvers.

The song “ Hana wa Saku” was originally sung and recorded by a group of 36 celebrities (who had previously lived in NorthEast) called “Hana wa Saku Project” including Nishida Toshiyuki (film/ TV actor), Nakaruma Masatoshi (actor/ artist), Mori Kumiko (opera /musical singer), Arakawa Shizuka (figure skater /2006 Winter Olympics gold medalist), and Sandwitchman (comedian). Furthermore, at last year’s “NHK 63rd Kohaku Utagassen (Red&White Singing Tournament)” broadcasted on December 31st, the song “Hana wa Saku” was performed with Kanno Yoko (conductor), Tsuji Nobuyuki (pianist).

Flowers Will Bloom” is Il Divo’s first charity song participation in Japan, but they have previously performed the song “Furusato” in Japanese, as a prayer for the recovery at their Japan Tour in March 2012. This was their first time singing the traditional Japanese song, and their philanthropic performance was embraced with a massive standing ovation. After their Japan Tour, there were huge amount of requests for the CD release of “Furusato” from fans. As a result, “Furusato” was recorded and the included on their “Greatest Hits” album as the Japanese bonus track in November 2012.

David Miller commented:
“IL DIVO is an international band comprised of members from 4 different countries. We are often called “musical ambassadors”, connecting the world with our music. It’s our pleasure taking part in “FLOWERS WILL BLOOM”. We couldn’t be happier knowing our vocals on this song might be able to help in Japan in some small way. About 2 and a half years has passed since the 3-11 disaster, and we understand Japan is still on the way towards a full recovery and reconstruction. We hope this
song encourages people of the world to not forget about the disaster that happened, and we hope to walk strong with the people in Japan.”

Il Divo has been encouraging Japan for its recovery from The Great Eastern Japan Earthquake since March 2011, and now their emotional and beautiful vocals and prayer in the song “ Flowers Will Bloom ” is spreading out to the world.

I took the article from their website and edited some, just to make the focus on the song part and Il Divo.
I'm going to see their Musical Affair concert next month! So excited, because it's kinda my first big concert. May not be the best seat, but heck, I'm just gonna enjoy the fact that I'm there :P

Hirosue Ryoko & Sato Takeru having an affair?

$

Hirosue Ryoko and Sato Takeru are said to be having an affair according to the 27th February issue of "Josei Seven". The magazine reported that Hirosue was caught leaving her apartment at 8.30pm on 21st February while dressed in fishnet stockings and 12cm-high stiletto heels and was carrying a big paper bag in her right hand which the reporters speculated could be a late Valentine's Day present. After a 15-minute taxi ride, Hirosue arrived at Sato's apartment and used the intercom to inform him of her arrival. Soon after, the lobby was unlocked and she headed into the apartment building. 9 hours later at 5.20am, a taxi pulled up at the entrance of Sato's apartment building and 15 minutes later, Sato's agency car also arrived at the same venue. Sato was seen boarding his agency's car in a big hurry and believed to be heading to his work venue. Soon after, Hirosue also left the apartment block from the back door and boarded the taxi which had been waiting for more than 20 minutes. The article also mentioned how the two were previously seen at a volcanic lava spa in Tokyo at the end of January.

When asked about the nature of Hirosue and Sato's relationship, both agencies denied that they were having an affair and Sato's agency also commented that she was just a respected senior of his.

Hirosue was previously married to model Okazawa Takahiro before they divorced in 2008 and had remarried candle article Candle Jun in 2010. She has two sons from her two marriages. Hirosue and Sato met on the set of 2010 NHK Taiga drama "Ryomaden".

According to the magazine, Hirosue's husband was not in Tokyo on the night she visited Sato because he has been away in disaster-struck areas like Fukushima and Niigata since mid February. In fact, Hirosue was said to have been unhappy about her husband's continued absence from home due to his charity work even though their relationship was believed to be on good terms. Due to the fact that Candle Jun was not at home most of the time, Hirosue was reported to have complained to her friends that she felt lonely and even suspected why her husband kept going to those areas and if he had someone there who he wanted to meet.

Hirosue and Sato did not have many scenes together in "Ryomaden" thus did not get close during the filming. However, things changed when they were seen chatting happily during the wrap-up party of the drama. Even after the drama ended, some of the cast members would gather for drinks from time to time and it was said that they met up again during one of these sessions.

Be prepared! A Saint Seiya CG movie's coming your way!

The official website of Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary CG film announced the voice cast on Thursday.
The cast includes

Kaito Ishikawa (Nobunaga The Fool, Golden Time, Tokyo Ravens) as Pegasus Seiya

Kenji Akabane‎ (Meganebu!, Star Driver) as Dragon Shiryū

Kensho Ono (Kuroko's Basketball) as Cygnus Hyōga

Nobuhiko Okamoto (Tiger & Bunny, Yozakura Quartet, Ao no Exorcist) as Andromeda Shun

Kenji Nojima (Psycho-Pass, High School DxD) as Phoenix Ikki

The film will adapt the popular Sanctuary arc from Masami Kurumada's original Saint Seiya mythological fantasy manga. The website previously had the following quote from Kurumada: "The Seiya legend began here."

Toei Animationconfirmed in February 2011 that production on a new computer-animated film of Saint Seiya had been green-lit. Keiichi Satou (Tiger & Bunny, Ashura), is helming the project, and Kurumada is credited as the original creator and chief production supervisor. (He also coined the film's title.) Tomohiro Suzuki, a scriptwriter for six episodes of Tiger & Bunny, is writing the screenplay.

The manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1985 to 1990, and as the teaser trailer below proclaims, it has 34.4 million copies in print worldwide. It quickly inspired a 1986 television anime series that was popular not only in Japan, but also in France, Italy, other parts of Europe, Brazil, other parts of South and Central America, and Asia. The anime aired in over 80 countries. It has been a decade since the last Saint Seiya film, 2004's Saint Seiya Tenkai-hen Jōsō ~Overture~.

The film will open in Japan on June 21. It will also play in Mexico and Peru this year.

$

Ikki Sawamura, 46, and Meisa Kuroki 25, will star in a new Fuji TV drama series about the so-called “black companies” in Japan.

The Japanese term ブラック企業 refers to companies that illegally underpay and overwork their employees. They have been getting a lot of media attention since last year, and the upcoming drama, “Black President,” which will air from April 8, will be the first time for a Japanese drama series to spotlight this social problem.

Sawamura plays the president of a black company, which is a rapidly developing clothing company. Sawamura’s character graduated from a designer college and he overworks his employees with his profit-first principle without being aware that he is breaking labor laws.

In order to learn company management, he enters a university at the age of 45 and starts to interact with young studentsn.

Kuroki plays the role of Kyoko Akiyama, a university lecturer. As she grew up in a different environment and has completely different ideas from Sawamura’s character, the two often clash.

"Real life barbie" Dakota Rose is now a Popteen model!

Popular teen magazine Popteen has found a replacement for model Okarie (Matsuoka Rie) in the form of Dakota Rose, the American After Effects hobbyist known on the internet as "real life barbie" and "that photoshop girl that hates Asian and gays and Asian gays".

Dakota arrived in Japan in 2012 after being signed by a model agency and has spent most of her time in Japan since then. Other notable modeling jobs she has landed include Tsubasa Masuwaka's CandyDoll makeup line and the cover of Elle Korea magazine.

It's unclear how Japanese netizens will react to the news that a full caucasian model will now be a fixture in their favorite fashion magazine. It's even more unclear how Japanese netizens would react if knowledge of Rose's past exploits were to surface. Those include homophobic remarks, making fun of Asians and of course, extensive use of photosop and After Effects to construct a "doll" look.

King of Arama has left Johnny's

Akanishi Jin's (29) contract with Johnny's Jimusho has expired at the end of February, and both parties agreed to not renew it.

The Jimusho has currently given out no further details. However, according to an official, Jin's intentions had conflicted with the Jimusho's. Rather than the mainstream idol music from his KAT-TUN period, he has strong preference in the "All-English" hiphop genre and intends to go overseas.

The DVD of his winter live will still be released according to schedule on April 2, 2014.

"Akanishi will still pursue a career in showbiz even after leaving the agency. A different source tells Sponichi that there were no new scandals or any sort of trouble that has led to this decision." (majide2ch)

Satoshi Tsumabuki & Kazuya Kamenashi To Star In 'Vancouver no Asahi'

kametsumabuki-vancouvernoasahi

Actor Satoshi Tsumabuki and KAT-TUN member Kazuya Kamenashi will be starring in the upcoming baseball film "Vancouver no Asahi".

As 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Vancouver Asahi team, which consists of Japanese immigrants who played in Canada before the World War II began, a movie commemorating them will be done. The movie will show how they still played well despite the discrimination for they have made it possible to finally be part of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.

Tsumabuki is 'Reggie Kasahara', a second generation immigrant who plays the "shortstop" in the team, the most dynamic position in baseball. Kamenashi, on the other hand, will play as the ace pitcher 'Roy Naganishi'. Joining the cast are actors Ryo Katsuji as 'Kei Kitamoto', the second baseman. Yusuke Kamiji as catcher 'Tom Miyake' and Sosuke Ikematsu will be the team's third baseman 'Frank Nojima'.

Tsumabuki is the only actor in the team who does not have a baseball background and so, he needed to spend a 3-month training for the role since director Yuya Ishii prefers the actor themselves to play the sport.

Filming is taking place at a baseball field in Ashikaga, Tochigi and some of the scenes will also be shot in Vancouver. 'Vancouver no Asahi' will open in Japanese theaters in December.

Yet another new movie for Kame is coming up, first he starred in 'Yokai Ningen Bem' movie, then 'Ore, Ore', he's also still currently filming for 'Joker Game' movie, and now he will be starring in this new movie too! It seems in recent years, Kame is shifting his attention to more movies...I have to admit though, he seems to be doing better in movies than dramas lately, so this shift to movies could be a good thing for him. And this new movie is about the history of a Japanese-Canadian baseball team, sounds just like Kame's kind of movie since he's such a avid fan of baseball =) And Tsumabuki Satoshi is in it too, I really like him as an actor, I'm actually happy to see him and Kame finally collaborating together =)
Although 'Vancouver no Asahi' doesn't sound like my type of movie since I personally hate sports xP but I'll still watch it for Kame and Tsumabuki =)
