[Drama Preview] Fall/ Autumn Dramas 2013 starring Johnnys

$
0
0
Next season's drama announcements have almost been completed. This list only includes dramas that includes Johnny’s talents, basically in a lead role, since there are quite a lot.

Clicking on would give the drama's casts, a preview of the story, the cliche and what to see, which is helpful to those interested in choosing what JE drama to watch.

[Clicking the drama's title will redirect you to the drama's main website]

1) 『Ando Lloyd』~A.I. knows LOVE?~

Starring: Kimura Takuya (SMAP), Shibasaki Kou, Oshima Yuko, Jesse (Johnny’s Jr.) Kiritani Kenta, Honda Tsubasa, Yamaguchi Sayaka, Yamamoto Mizuki, Hiraoka Yuta, Natori Yuko, and Endo Kenichi.

Story: Kimura plays two roles, a genius physicist in the present (2013)and an android in the future (2113). In order to protect his fiance, played by Shibasaki, from the same killer who have taken his life, he sent “Ando Lloyd” through a time cable to protect her. A love story that grows between a human and an android.

The cliche: The story is nothing original as we have seen something similar in “Zettai Kareshi” and there’s “Saber Marionette” in anime.

What to see: If the story does not interest you that much, the comeback team-up of KimuTaku and Kou is a must-see! “Good luck!” is the first japanese drama that I’ve ever seen and their chemistry is explosive enough to keep you interested. Moreover, we all know that KimuTaku is a topnotch actor and watching his dramas is always worth the time. Lastly, “Ando LLoyd” will be replacing the highly successful “Hanzawa Naoki” so it’s also a must-see if TBS can reign supreme in Golden Time ratings game. “Ando LLoyd”‘s biggest competitor would be “Doctor X 2″, since the drama’s 1st season was able to rate higher than Kimura’s “Priceless” last year.

2.) Tokyo Bandwagon ~ Shitamachi Daikazoku Monogatari

(c)alare-chan

Starring: Kamenashi Kazuya (KAT-TUN), Tabe Mikako, Tamaki Koji, Hiraizumi Sei, Kaga Mariko, Mimura, Kageko Nobuaki, Taira Airi, Kimino Yuma, Ozawa Runa, Mitsuishi Ken, Katagiri Hairi, Bengal, and Inohara Yoshihiko (V6).

Story: Set in downtown Tokyo, the Hotta’s is known for running a secondhand bookshop and a cafe. However, the family is most known for being huge in numbers and for having knack in solving mysterious cases for their customers.

The cliche: See Kame acting like Kindaichi again, only with a huge family backing him up. One of the dramas this season that is adapted from a novel.

What to see: With Oomori Mika (“My Boss My Hero” and “Buzzer Beat”) as the screenwriter, expect this to be hilarious with lots of foolishness; however, also expect some drama because drama always seems to be involved within families. Since there will also be cases involved, I hope that those cases won’t be boring. Moreover, I’m hoping for some nice onscreen chemistry between Kame and Tabe. Rumor has it that Kame is like a “lucky charm” to his leading ladies as most of his leading ladies careers have skyrocketed after being paired to him.

3.) Kurokochi

Starring: Tomoya Nagase (TOKIO), Gouriki Ayame, Kashii Yu, Riju Go, Koichi Mantaro, Daichi Yasuo, Kazama Morio, and Watabe Atsuro.

Story: Following the largest heist in Japanese history where a sum of 300 million Yen was stolen, Tomoya plays a corrupt detective whose willing to use illegal practices, such as extortion and blackmail, in order to get to truth.

The cliche: Another deka drama for Tomoya after “Unubore Deka!” but with much more angst since he’s supposed to be a corrupt official so this is like “My Boss My Hero” meets “Unubore Deka!”.

What to see: Tomoya’s playing a lead role as well as the lead villain. I love seeing a tough-looking Tomoya, it suits him well.

What not to see: Gouriki Ayame, nuff said.

4.) Dokushin Kizoku

Starring: Tsuyoshi Kusanagi (SMAP), Kitagawa Keiko, and Hideaki Ito

Story: Tsuyoshi plays a “Noble Bachelor” who is satisfied with being single in contrast to his brother (Hideaki) aka “Divorce Warrior”, who was kicked-out by his ex-wife, and relentlessly dates women while working under his brother. The brothers’ life will be slowly change with the entrance of Kitagawa aka “Marriage Refugee”, who will work as part-time house worker, and hates mens view in marriage.

The cliche: jdramas take into love stories isn’t as sappy and cheesy as it was during the 90s and early 2000s. Nowadays, kdramas handles the love stories well, since that’s the only thing they do anyway.

What to see and what not to see: As much as I love the plot, I would rather see the “Noble Bachelor” being played by someone else (sorry Tsuyopon!). This type of character is something more fitting for KimuTaku or Okada Junichi or non-JE talents, like: Fujiki Naohito, Tamaki Hiroshi, Tamayama Tetsuji, and Shun Oguri. Nevertheless, I haven’t seen Keiko and Tsuyopon together so I’m not sure how this will turn out. But, this drama will be directed by Hideki Takeuchi, the man behind TV and movie hits like “Thermae Romae”, “Nodame Cantabile”, and “Densha Otoko” among others so, yes, I’m expecting a lot.

5.) Yorozu Uranaidokoro Onmyoya e Yokoso

Starring: Nishikido Ryo (Kanjani8), Chinen Yuri (Hey!Say!JUMP), Kurashina Kana, Suruga Taro, Miyagawa Ichirota, Hamada Mari, Fuse Eri, Minamino Yoko, and Kashiwagi Yuki (AKB48).

Story: Nishikido runs a “fortune-teller” shop where he is the “fortune-teller”. However, he doesn’t really have any psychic powers and only uses his past experience as a host and his good conversational skills to dig deeper to client’s woes. He will be helped by Chinen, a part-timer with excellent hearing and smelling, and Kurashina will play Nishikido’s nemesis as she does not believe with anything with no scientific basis.

The cliche: Another drama adapted from a novel. Well, Nishikido has been playing so-so roles lately that lacks depth and hasn’t been able to draw-out his dramatic prowess, I just hope that this won’t be as disappointing as “Papadol!”. With Chinen, curse his height and youthful appearance that he might be forever be given “student-type” roles forever.

What to see: Nishikido tries some comedic act as the onmyouji and Chinen as somewhat of a fox. Moreover, some senpai-kouhai interaction.

6.) 49

Starring: Sato Shori (Sexy Zone), Yamamoto Maika, Nomura Masumi, Konno Mahiru, Kyan Yutaka (Golden Bomber), and Johnny’s Jrs. Jinguji Yuta , Yasui Kentaro , Teranishi Takuto, Morita Myuto, Ryuya Shimikake, Takahashi Fu, Abe Aran, and Amu Hanuida.

Story: Sato (Kagami Dan) plays a underachiever at school and sports that he prefers to spend his time at home. One day, his deceased father decided to enter Kagami’s body to help him excel with academics and sports.

The cliche: The plot is interesting enough but with a newbie like Sato playing a 49 year-old man, don’t expect much.

What to see: bunch of Johnny’s juniors.

7.) Kamisama no Beret boy ~ Tezuka Osamu no Black Jack Sousaku Hiwa ~ SP

Starring: Tsuyoshi Kusanagi (SMAP), Sato Koichi, Oshima Yuko (AKB48), Tanaka Kei, Okada Yoshinori, Mashima Hidekazu, Magi, Asari Yosuke, Nakamura Yasuhi, Otake Koichi, Matsuo Satoru, Matayoshi Naoki, Asou Yumi, and Kohinata Fumiyo.

Story: Based on the life of popular manga artist- Tezuka Osamu- on how he created his hit series “Black Jack” before his death.

The cliche: The biography of one of the greatest manga artist can be good or a yawner.

What to see: Tsuyoshi’s portrayal of the popular mangaka and some Tsuyoshi and Yuko’s interaction since this tandem spurred one of those “marriage” rumors.

8.) The Partner ~itoshiki hyaku nen no tomo e ~ SP

Starring: Higashiyama Noriyuki, Takei Emi, Mana Ashida, Nakamaru Yuichi (KAT-TUN), Huynh Dong, and Lan Phuong.

Story: A commemorative work between two countries (Japan and Vietnam) that will tell the story about the special friendship between Pan Boi Chau and Japanese doctor Asaba Sakitaro, which began 100 years ago when Chau went to Japan to seek support for Vietnam’s national independence movement. Higashiyama will be playing two roles as Asaba in the Meiji era and a salaryman in the current era.

The cliche: Another biography drama SP with foreign actors also in cast.

What to see: Higashiyama’s dual portrayal and Nakamaru in Vietnamese garments. XD. Expect this to be quite heavy and emotional with lots of patriotic sentiments from both countries represented in this SP.

8.) Tengoku no Koi

Starring: Tokoshima Yoshiko, Uchi Hiroki, and Johnny’s Jr Takada Sho

Story: A forbidden love story between a 40 year-old woman and two 20-something man.

The cliche: As far as daytime series goes, the story is cliche enough.

What to see: Steamy hot scenes featuring Uchi and Takada that will surely paved way to cougar movement among older ladies.

9.) Henshin Interviewer no Yuuutsu

Starring: Nakamaru Yuichi (KAT-TUN), Fumino Kimura, Fuse Eri, Matsuo Suzuki, Mashima Hidekazu, Nakamura Yuko, Shoji Yusuke, Machida Mari, Mitsuishi Ken, Iwamatsu Ryo, and Matsushige Yutaka

Story: Nakamaru plays two roles, one is the gifted trick writer with long hair and unkempt look while the other is the refreshing and handsome man to make people talk and gather information.

The cliche: As this drama was written and directed by Satoshi Miki, expect some “Ore Ore”-ish moments since Nakamaru will be doing two character portrayals.

What to see: Nakamaru’s dual portrayal mixed with some comedic moments.

10.) Hajimari no Uta

Starring: Matsumoto Jun (Arashi), Eikura Nana, Toda Naho, Kunimura Jun, Onoue Hiroyuki, Ishida Takuya, Tokunaga Eri, and Yuki Saori

Story: Based from Arashi’s “Furosato“, which they sang during NHK’s “Kouhaku Uta Gassen” last 2010, tells the story of a travel photographer who returns to his hometown for a project. However, upon his return to his hometown, he found himself relieving his dream of being a teacher by helping a group of preschool students prepare for a choir competition.

The cliche: Everyone who have seen KUG last 2010 and any Arashi fan would know that while this song is inspiring, it also spells a major drama.

What to see: MatsuJun’s return to drama scene and his return in NHK since 1998′s “Hitsuyo no nai hito”. I’ve been missing Matsujun doing drama than those pretty-boy/idol type of roles. While his role as THE Domyouji Tsukasa will always be remembered, his roles in “Smile”, “Myu no Anyo Papa ni Ageru”, and “Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku” are the best for me.

Masahiro Nakai's advice to Becky on candid camera

$
0
0

SMAP's Masahiro Nakai was on the variety show Ningen Kansatsu* variety monitoring (*Human observation) as Becky asked him about marriage without being aware that the cameras were rolling.

Becky approached Nakai, saying that there's this serious problem that she has about marrying the man she loves and wants to discuss with him. Nakai's first reply was, "I don't think I'm the one you're supposed to be discussing this with. You should talk this over with people who are really close to you like Aya Ueto. You have the wrong person. I don't have the confidence that I will be able to answer your question". But the look on his face changed at Becky's next words.

Becky said: "My agency said they can't look after me if I get married. It means that I'm getting fired...". To this, Nakai responded: "You can't think of having both at the same time. You need to be prepared to lose one or the other. You've entered that sort of industry. You cannot have everything. Didn't you join the showbiz world with that kind of resolve?"

Becky then asked: "Nakai-san, why aren't you getting married?". Nakai just dismissed it with, "Because I don't have a partner!". Then he added, "It's not something that you should do when you feel like doing it, it's something that you do when the right time comes, whether I'll be 50 or 60 by that time, then that's that". "Honestly, I don't think Johnny's will have anything to say if I tell them that I want to get married. But I'm a man so I have to keep on working, so I probably don't want to be tied down by marriage, like living together and stuff".

Nakai then concluded it by saying, "I think it's fine, why don't you go marry him? But you should properly tell your agency that you want to get married no matter what. If they tell you that you're fired, then you should accept that decision in good spirits". "If I just tell Johnny's that 'I'll be getting married tomorrow', then I'm sure they'll panic. You are still maintaining a certain amount of distance with this agency that has taken care of you, so you also have to reciprocate in accordance with that distance. It'll be rude on your agency so don't cause them trouble.".

People who watched this gave their thoughts on Twitter:
"Nakai-kun's so kind! I'd fall in love with him if he did that to me!"
"He's seriously so cool."
"The way he thinks is amazing."
"He made me feel how gallant someone is who has a strong resolve."
"Nakai-kun, wow. And I like how he doesn't put that forth all the time. I think he's godly for a human being."

It must really be easy since he can fool the Jani-wotas with something like this

According to script

That was really good.
Women who are asking for advice actually already have their own answer to their problems, they just want other people to agree to them.
Nakai understood that and went straight to the point.
"I want to get married"⇒ Then get married
"I want to keep working"⇒ Then why don't you keep working?
It's a refreshing answer, telling her to just follow her heart and do what she really wants.
And his words about paying respect to the co-workers who have taken care of her was really nice.

>> That's easier to understand and a much more concise explanation than the article!
>> I do feel that there's a high chance that this was scripted, but this is definitely something that Nakai would say, and I feel that this is how he lived his life. As a drama or as a lecture, this was a really good corner on the show.

I think this was a normal answer.
Then what other responses would have been possible? Like "Don't get married!" or something?

>> Because there are a lot of foolish shotgun marriages in the showbiz world like Tsuji and Taiyo who just neglected work.

It's probably scripted for the promotion of his film w

People should be praising the guy who wrote his script w

Don't you think this ATARU promotion is too obnoxious?

He's over 40 already, so I think even people from his generation would think similarly. I actually thought that people would be more surprised at how conservative he is.

He isn't Degawa, but I think these veterans can easily tell if there are any hidden cameras around.

But I don't think that the logic of this crazy agency, who only permits 1 person per group to get married even when they're over 40, is correct.

Does Johnny's allow their talents to be in serious candid camera shows?

But isn't this the scumbag who had abortion?
How does he have honor in that? w

>> Aaaand we finally have someone here who brings up the abortion thing.

But the people praising him are mainly Jani-otas or Johnny's paid agents, right?

Don't you guys know why they made Nakai as their target?
Since it's for the promotion of his movie you blockheads.

>> There might really be a script for "acting naturally" even

But Becky was so persistent, it was gross.
Nakai was probably thinking, "This girl's so annoying".

Nakai must've definitely noticed the cameras rolling.
He hasn't been in the showbiz world that long for nothing.

Because Nakai's a calculating fellow

Wasn't there already something wrong with it the moment Becky came to ask for his advice in the dressing room? w

There are no real candid camera moments in these variety shows.
Especially when you're trying to pull this off at someone as huge as him. And he already confirmed the camera locations a number of times while he was eating the cookies.

There's no way they didn't explain this to Nakai beforehand.

A long time ago, there was a segment where KinKi Kids were approached by some thugs, and Tsuyoshi was acting all cool. But that was also entirely according to a script.

Nakai has always been a regular on candid camera. Acting like he was fooled is a piece of cake to him. He's really good at handling stuff like this. w

I don't know if it's scripted or not, but it did seem like he noticed the camera.
I don't think you'll be able to do serious hidden camera pranks on SMAP-sama.

He should also say something to Akanishi who had that shotgun marriage without any consent from the agency.
>> He did tell Akanishi who left the group and came back that,
"The other members aren't women whom you can use conveniently!".

I did see Nakai in his essence during an event and I really believe that he's got a great attitude. He was even so nice and amiable to the newbie part-timer there.

Are these female talents really not allowed to have relations with other men?
I'm not one of those clamoring for virginity, but I think this is fine except for those young idols.

>> Seriously, I also don't get why someone like Becky would be so concerned about relationships with men. There are a lot of other talents who should be more concerned about it other than her w

They always do stuff like this before the movies are shown.
With the new season about to start in October, expect all these annoying promotional gimmicks for dramas to continue.
No matter how much, whenever, wherever, or whatever TV station it may be.

Whatever the case, it just means that Nakai's a good actor if this was scripted.

The one about the cookie was a strategy for them to tell Nakai that he's on candid camera.
Else, he won't listen to other people talking so kindly like that.

So isn't there a problem when Johnny's talents do smoking scenes?...
Well, he's not a youngster in his 20s; he's an old dude in his 40s already, so there's probably no issue there.

>> Even when all 5 members of SMAP went to travel, it was only Nakai who smoked.

It's actually a normal thing, but it seems that kids these days don't even think about giving consideration or repaying good deeds, so it may seem so great to them.

I think what he did was pretty normal...
Is it just that people were surprised because it was Nakai, and it'd look good even if he just said something normal?

Anyway, Becky was so annoying in that one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjkYi3S3dec

It's too normal so I'm really at a loss here.
But then if I said the same thing, people would probably think I'm gross (/_;)

Same-sex marriage unlikely to become legal in Japan anytime soon

BEjv9JgCAAAw3GH-415x260

Despite a number of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transexual) groups campaigning for gay rights around the world, even in conservative Asia, it is unlikely that same sex marriage will be allowed in Japan anytime soon, at least one with legal bearing. In Thailand, the Parliament has drafted a bill that would allow gay couples who are at least 20 years of age to be bound through civil partnership. However, as long as the Constitution of Japan prevails, same sex partnership shall remain legally unrecognized in the Land of the Rising Sun.

According to the Article 24 of the Japanese Constitution, unrevised since 1947, it is mandated that “marriage shall be based on the mutual consent of both sexes.” It is also unlikely to be amended as the ruling block is the right-wing Liberal Democratic Party. Albeit its name, the Shinzo Abe led political party strongly upholds Japanese culture and values, one of which offers no support for same sex marriage. A poll was made by Rainbow Pride Ehime, an LGBT activist group, prior to the December general elections inquiring about the running parties’ stand on same-sex marriage. The LDP firmly responded, “Marriage should be between different sexes. Thus there is no need to adopt a legal marriage system” for gay couples.”

Even though there is neither legal recognition nor acknowledgment for same-sex marriage or civil union in the country, Japanese society has not profusely discriminated those who belong to the LGBT, whom they call the sexual minorities. A 420-year Buddhist temple in Kyoto for example and some hotels have even held same-sex marriage ceremonies although participating couples are aware that such ceremony holds no legal implication. In March of this year, Tokyo Disneyland even had its first lesbian wedding ceremony at the park. The good news is that, according to Patrick Linehan, the openly gay U.S. Consul General for Osaka, “there is no religion-based discrimination or hatred of sexual minorities in Japan.” But, he says there is a wide lack of knowledge and awareness about homosexuality and gay culture, which can be fixed by awareness campaigns and the gay community being openly out there.

Tokyo’s National Olympic Stadium welcomes visitors curious for the 1964 Games experience

With Tokyo chosen to host the 2020 Olympics, the current National Olympic Stadium will be getting some serious remodeling in preparation for its second round with the Summer Games. Before the stadium becomes inaccessible to the public, people have been visiting to get a feel of the 1964 Olympics. The National Olympic Stadium hosts a number of visitors who embark on tours to see the historic arena.

A maximum of 20 people per tour are able to visit the National Olympic Stadium, where the opening ceremonies of the 1964 Olympics were held. During a tour the previous week, a group of women, families, and even people who lived at the time when Tokyo had its first Olympic hosting came to take a look at the stadium, despite the 31.5 degrees in the capital’s Shinjuku Ward. The first stop of the tour was the Prince Chichibu Memorial Sports Museum, where medals of the 1964 Japanese delegate are kept. Even the red blazers the athletes wore during the opening ceremonies, as well as other memorabilia from the first Olympics in Tokyo are on display.

The other stop of the tour was the cauldron that held the Olympic flame. One of those who joined the tour was 74-year old Yaoki Shuto from Nerima Ward in Tokyo. Shuto was not able to witness the 1964 Olympics in person, as the entrance fee was too expensive, but she has now seen the stadium up close and personal. “Finally, I can see the uniforms and the Olympic cauldron for myself,” she said. The last stop of the tour was at the VIP room, which the Imperial Family as well as notable Japanese and foreign figures used to watch the Games.

The stadium will have its big makeover beginning in July of next year. The new stadium, with its 80,000 seating capacity, will have a retractable roof and is expected to be completed by March 2019.

Meganebu! Eyeglasses Club Anime's Promo With Animation Streamed

The official website for the Meganebu! (literally, "Eyeglasses Club") television anime began streaming the third promotional video for the anime on Friday. In the video, Akira Sōma (voiced by Kenji Akabane) says, “Let's show them the Glasses Club's true power!” The video features both the anime's ending theme, "Colorful World" by Tomohisa Sakō and opening theme, "World's End" by MUCC.

The official website also revealed new characters — the club's advisors, Hotaka Shirogane (in overalls) and Kyōsuke Hariu (in a white coat) — on Friday:

Meet the Main Characters

Kenji Akabane plays Akira, a 17-year-old second-year student at Himaraya Third Technical High School. He proclaims that eyeglasses are not a means of correcting vision or a fashion accessory, but a better way to see the world.
He categorizes all of humanity into three groups: "glasses," "those who don't wear glasses," and "the ladies." He scolds those who wears contacts, going around and calling them "weaklings!!" There are many times when he, the passionate boy that he is, would argue with his fellow club-mates about glasses. His favorite kind of glasses are ones with square frames, and both of his eyes have 0.03 vision (in the Japanese eyeglasses prescription notation).

Likes: curry rice
Dislikes: green peppers
Birthday: April 4 (Aries)
Body: 175 cm (about 69 inches) / 65 kg (143 pounds) / blood type O
Family: father, mother, younger brother

(In the video, Akira Sōma introduces himself as the outspoken president and founder of the eyeglasses club, and someone who espouses the superiority of spectacle-wearers.)

Kouki Miyata plays Mitsuki Kamatani, a 16-year old cute little brother-type character who adores Akira. He entered the eyeglasses club because he wanted to help his beloved upperclassman. Due to his extreme amount of respect, he sometimes has a split personality. He works very hard because he wants Akira to rely on him. When he first entered the school, he had uncool glasses, but he bought his new glasses with Akira. His favorite type of glasses are under-rim cel frames, and his vision is 0.08 in his left eye, and 0.4 in his right.

Likes: avocado
Dislikes: sponge cake
Birthday: June 6 (Gemini)
Body: 166 cm (about 65 inches) / 53 kg (117 pounds) / blood type AB
Family: father, mother, Norio (dog)

(In the video, Kouki Miyata introduces himself as Mitsuki Kamatani, a 16-year old cute little brother-type character who adores Akira, the club's president.)

Takuma Hachimine does not do much of anything, even when he is in the club room. He seems like a prince who would be good at studies, but in fact, he is lacking in sense. However, he treasures his friends even more than himself. His favorite kind of glasses are Wellington cel frames, and his vision is 0.2 in his left eye, and 0.4 in his right eye (in the Japanese eyeglasses prescription notation).

Likes: cream puffs, seaweed bentō box, tartar sauce
Dislikes: kimchi
Birthday: July 7 (Cancer)
Body: 180 cm (about 71 inches) / 67 kg (148 pounds) / blood type A
Family: father, mother (working overseas), two older brothers (24 and 21 years old)

(In the video, voice actor Atsushi Tamaru introduces himself as Takuma Hachimine, a 17-year old slow-paced, spacey boy in Meganebu!)

The second-year student at Himaraya Third Technical High School is a childhood friend of the club president Akira. He considers eyeglasses to be a landmark innovation in modern Japan, one that ought to be praised. He is very wise because he looks up things immediately on his "yPad," but because he has no actual experience in many things, he is often considered sheltered. He never misses having at least one hour of nap time a day. Yukiya's favorite kind of glasses are metal top-rimmed glasses, and his vision is 0.01 in both eyes.

Likes: omelets
Dislikes: monjayaki (a okonomiyaki-like fried dish)
Birthday: November 11 (Scorpio)
Body: 178 cm (about 70 inches) / 63 kg (139 pounds) / blood type B
Family: father, mother, two little sisters (twins in sixth grade)

(In the video, voice actor Junichi Suwabe introduces himself as Yukiya Minabe, a 17-year old mysterious shy boy who spends most of his time indoors.)

A first-year student at Himaraya Third Technical High School, Hayato is the only member of the club who wears glasses only for show. Because his eyesight was too good, he was refused entry into the club at first by Akira, but after asking again and again, he was finally accepted. Many of the members of the club think him annoying due to his nature to seek attention, but since he gets his way in the end, he doesn't mind at all. His favorite glasses are ones with oval-square cel frames, and he has 2.0 vision in both eyes (normal vision in the Japanese eyeglasses prescription notation).

Likes: beef bowl (with broth and heaps of red ginger)
Dislikes: ume (pickled plum)
Birthday: December 12 (Sagittarius)
Body: 171 cm (about 67 inches) / 60 kg (132 pounds) / blood type O
Family: mother (father passed away), big sister, big brother, little brother

(In the video, voice actor Ryohei Kimura introduces himself as Hayato Kimata, a 16-year old student and the bright mood-maker of the club.)

So like the Free! posts I did in the summer I decided to do a Meganebu post, but I'm lazy and decided to just combined them into one. Anywho, I'm not sure who will be my fave, the loud mouth protag or his shy shut-in friend.

/!\Trigger Warning/!\ Volleyball coach seen beating schoolboy in YouTube video

TOKYO —

A video emerged Wednesday showing a volleyball coach repeatedly slapping a schoolboy—just days after Tokyo was awarded the 2020 Olympics—in the latest example of brutality to tarnish Japanese sport.

A short clip posted on YouTube and other video-sharing sites showed the teacher at Hamamatsu Nittai Senior High School in central Japan smacking the student’s face at least 13 times in 16 seconds. It was authenticated by the school.

The episode was captured on a mobile phone by another student during a practice game in Gifu, northwest of the city, on Sunday. By mid-afternoon on Wednesday it had garnered some 1.6 million viewings on YouTube.

“Don’t joke around, kid! Do you understand? You’re stupid,” the teacher yells in the video as he repeatedly slaps the child’s face.

According to the school, the teacher has admitted the physical abuse of the second-grader, saying:“I wanted to shake him up, but I went about it the wrong way”.

Students in Japan are 16 or 17 years old in second grade of high school.

Toshitaka Shiozawa, assistant principal of the school, told AFP the 41-year-old teacher had also beaten another student on the same day. He declined to reveal the teacher’s name.

Neither student suffered any lasting injuries in the attacks, Shiozawa said, adding the school was considering disciplining the teacher as “we regard the act as corporal punishment”.

The school held an emergency meeting with the parents of students in the volleyball team Tuesday night, at which the teacher and the school principal apologized for the incident, Shiozawa added.

In May last year, the same teacher also slapped a student’s face, causing a nosebleed, but the school did not take any punitive measures “because the student did not complain,” he said.

In a separate case in western Japan, nearly 70 junior high school students were left with injuries on their feet after being ordered by their teachers to run barefoot, local media said.

The students were forced to run up to 1.2 kilometers over ground heated up by strong sunshine because they were late for an exercise at a sport festival at Suma Gakuen junior high school in Kobe, news reports said.

Immediate confirmation of the reports was not available.

Japan banned corporal punishment in schools after World War II, but it remains far from uncommon, particularly in sports education, despite a number of high-profile cases.

In December, a teenager killed himself following repeated physical abuse from his high school basketball coach in Osaka, western Japan.

Earlier this month, world judo champion Shohei Ono was suspended from his university for physically abusing junior members of the judo squad.

Japan’s judo community was rocked in January when it emerged the coach of the national women’s team was found to have beaten athletes, sometimes using a bamboo sword, calling his charges “ugly” and telling them to “die” in the run-up to the London Olympics.

The latest incident came less than two weeks after Japan was awarded the right to host the 2020 Olympic Games, and followed the announcement that the government was to create a sports agency to boost elite athletes’ performance.

Mieko Ae, professor and sports psychologist at Tokyo Women’s College of Physical Education said many coaches in Japan believe physical abuse can improve students’ performance.

“In order to get rid of sports abuse, we have to change this way of thinking and if necessary, we should consider introducing measures on those who break the rules,” Ae said.

“Extreme sports bullying is not discipline, it’s a crime,” she said. “It’s time to remove all violence from sports.”

1st time ever for KAT-TUN to skip a Kame drama theme song. O_O
Although I'm digging this unit, song and the PV

Seriously, what's up with all the Ayame Gouriki bashing?

$

Honestly, all I ever see is meaningless criticism

Because she's in almost all these live action adaptations, and she's been raping all the original versions.
>> Her agency is the one that's giving her these projects.
It's the agency's fault for pushing her even if she doesn't even have any abilities.
That's why we should be bashing the agency.

We're not bashing her. It's just that we're not happy whenever she shows up.

She's disgusting, smelly, an eyesore
>> Smelly? How can we know her smell, you egghead.
There are also a lot of other people who are disgusting and are eyesores, you pig.

Because she's got a terribly ugly face yet she's all over TV and is being treated like a popular actress.
>> It's true that she's popular with women because she used to be a model.
The ones bashing her are you kimo-otas.

Because they're trying to force her into Aya Ueto's position.
There's no way she can go there with that face of hers.

>> But Aya Ueto had plastic surgery.
Didn't you know that?
If her agency is overhyping her, then aim your criticisms towards the agency.

She's not cute.
This is Oscar's special way of overhyping their talents.
I don't like Ueto, Takei, and Kutsuna too.

It's our grudge on her for destroying Biblia

Honestly, I think the script writing was what made Biblia suck

Simple, because she's ugly and gets a lot of exposure

Because she's ugly.
But recently, I've started to think that she can look cute if you make her have long hair with an 8:2 split.

Uhm. True, she may be cute.

???
So you hate this trend of bashing what's popular, and instead you're fine with bashing the agency which made that?

Because everyone else is doing it

When people tell me I look like Gouriki, it feels like I'm being insulted.

I originally thought that, "Oh, this girl with a weird name is being overhyped these days",
but everyone just went all out with the bashing when she was in Mirai Nikki.
Then Biblia was the finishing blow.

I think the bottomline here is that the otas don't want her to ever set foot into their fantasies.

So she made a portion of the otakus mad, and the trend of criticizing her for the heck of it spread across the general public.

I hope Pamyu Pamyu also tries to think about that.

She may be overhyped and all, but is it really something that deserves all this hate she's getting?

What made it the way it is?

>> Joie♪ Yakult Joie♪ Who's is it♪

This changed all my thoughts about her.
I really thought she was ugly at first, but I could have bared it if it was only shown a few times.
But when you show it all the time like that, I just couldn't forgive it. I howl every time I see it.

But if you just see her around the corner, she's actually cute.

She's a good dancer,
but what the heck is with that song?
That has no value whatsoever as a song.
It's on the same level as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, no value whatsoever.

The black version Gouriki in this commercial is too cute, I can't bear it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG_iBeS5XnM&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I get really worried when I see those eyes.
They're scary.

Because she's got a pantyhose face

A commercial for the Shingeki no Kyojin ~Jinrui Saigo no Tsubasa (Attack on Titan: Last Wings of Humanity) Nintendo 3DS action game began airing in Japan on Sunday.

Spike Chunsoft promises to let players relive Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan manga and anime with "3D Maneuvering action!" Up to four players can cooperate in the game's multiplayer mode.

In the game's story mode, the player controls Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and other members of the Survey Corps as they take on the invading giants. At the beginning of this mode, the player can only play as Eren, but as the game progresses, the player can choose Mikasa and Armin. Enterbrain's Famitsu magazine teases that Levi and other characters might be available as well. The characters use the story's signature 3D manuever gear for high-speed action.

In each mission, the computer control allies who fight alongside the player. If allies are captured, the player can rescue them by cutting the Titans' arms before the humans are eaten. Naturally, if the characters are eaten by the giants, the player fails the mission and the game is over.

In the game's multiplayer mode, players can also make, customize, and train their own characters.

Spike Chunsoft will ship the game in Japan on December 5 for 6,090 yen (about US$61).

In July of this year, an American company (Wazego Collective) attempted to kickstart an American remake of the hit Kdrama  Boys Over Flowers. The Kickstarter campaign however, only raised $1,252 USD out of a goal of 100,000. Pretty slim pickings...

At the time, i assumed that this meant an end to the project. Three months later, I found out that not only was i wrong, but that they have had several new developments.

Firstly, the producers of the project is no longer Wazego Collective. Taking over the role is WillKinn Media.
Secondly, this isn't a project done by a few teenage fans of the Kdrama. When we reached out to them, they wanted to clarify that point. They asked us to post this statement as well:

"We have a total of six executive producers including a co-production company for the series and only 2 of us are fans of the series.  The company has done other projects before taking on Boys Before Flowers.  The people that run it are all 10-20 year industry professionals that have worked with companies such as Samsung Electronics,  Dick Clark Productions, Walt Disney Corporation, etc. The company was not formed just to make this series. The team has already been working on three other projects before this one.  "

Just a quick note, the actress playing Makino has NOT been picked yet, that's why she's not included below. So let's get started:

UPDATE: MAKINO HAS BEEN PICKED!!

Actors Name - Character Name (Japanese Character name)

Joseph Almani - Liam Montgomery (Tsukasa Domyouji)

Trenton Culkin - Oliver Young (Rui Hanazawa)

Napoleon Tavale -  Chase Carlton (Sojirou Nishikado)

Suteara Vaughn - Chloe James (Owner of Dango Shop)

Tiffany Daniels - Krissy

Kosuke Kitajima who was invited to ARAFES gets bashed by Jani-wotas after posting a tweet

$
0
0

Kosuke Kitajima @kitajimakosuke
ARAFES NAU*
(*comes from the English word "now", means that he is currently at ARAFES)

・Die, die, die, die, die, die, die

・Cellphones are prohibited during the event. Do not tweet something like ARAFES NOW. That's absurd. Please turn off your phone. If you're at ARAFES then don't look at your phone. Look at Arashi.

・Fans who have been supporting them forever can't even get in while these celebrities can... This is reality. I just can't...

・I don't get it. Why is his Twitter open even though it's starting? And fans can't even get in. This world really is unfair.
・Get out of the stadium now.
・Consider the feelings of the people who couldn't go
・Ehh, Kosuke Kitajima went to ARAFES? And he Tweeted he was there during the show itself? Haaa? I don't care if he's there, just don't tweet something like "nau". We can't go there. The nerve of him to tweet while they're performing! Sorry for my bad language here.
・I'm one of those who wasn't chosen to go to ARAFES... Then when I saw Kosuke Kitajima tweeting "ARAFES NAU"... I'm crying again.

Kitajima: "Suima-sen"*
(* Kitajima is a swimmer, swimmer is スイマー, or suima- in Japanese. Suimasen can also mean "sorry")

I'm at a loss for words

This feels so good!

>Consider the feelings of the people who couldn't go
I don't give a damn (´・ω・`)

Kitajima: "Then why don't you try considering the feelings of someone like me who isn't interested at all but is made to sit through this whole thing."

Jani-wotas are so disgustinggggggggggggg

* Tweeting during the concert
* Tweeting "die" to a certain individual

Both sides are scumbags w

He's a man, so he won't even enjoy an Arashi concert. But this was a favor asked by a representative so he has no choice but to go.

Then to make it seem like he's enjoying it, they make him tweet and implying to the world that "even male personalities like Arashi".

Then he gets bashed. This is so funny www

ARAFES is Arashi's concert, right? Do you really have to turn off your phones at Johnny's concerts?
>> There's no problem with it if he did it before it started
>> There are a lot of events that disallow cellphones. It's like being considerate in movie houses by putting your phones on silent.

But he's a VIP guest who's different from you common people so you should know your place (´・ω・`)

A lot of these Jani-otas really seem dumb.

The bitterness of these people who couldn't go sure is something

He was probably kicking back, relaxed at the VIP seats

These Jani-otas really have a unique creepiness to them,
It's a different kind of creepiness to these male idol otakus...

Don't these Jani-otas know that their actions will just lead to Arashi having to apologize to Kitajima?

But you guys are normally pretty strict too when it comes to manners, right? LOL

LOLing at all these meatheads here.
Using cell phones is prohibited during concerts.
Got that?

>> For normal people

Just like the panas, these otas are really scary. (http://majide2ch.blogspot.com/2013/07/news-live-tour-2013-100-fans-required.html)

The creepiness of these Jani-otas is way above that of the anime otakus.

I don't really know the details, but isn't he in the VIP or staff seats? He's probably with someone there, but I think there's no way he'd be watching together with the other disgusting Jani-ota grannies.

In reality, these people are mad at him not because of him using his phone, but because he gets to watch while they can't.

>> Their faces look like they jumped out directly from a manga

They're crazy for treating a VIP like him as one of the common public.

I heard that only about 1 in 75 people get chosen for the tickets this time. Jani-wotas are going insane www

This is a fine example where you can see why the kanji character 女 (onna = woman) is included in 嫉妬 (shitto = jealousy). This is really horrible.

Poor Arashi, they're losing face because of these otakus.

Jani-wotas so grossssssss!

Oh, so Arashi's also having a concert at 17:30 today.
Maybe I'll tweet "ARAFES NAU" later.

This is pretty much how the morals of these idol die-hard fans are.

Arashi are gods.(http://majide2ch.blogspot.com/2013/07/jani-otas-worshipping-arashis-poster-in.html and http://majide2ch.blogspot.com/2013/07/if-you-pass-by-this-arashi-poster-in.html)

Kitajima is an intruder who came to pollute the holy land.

I don't really get it. What's so wrong about tweeting that he's in a concert?
>> It seems they're thinking, "If you didn't go there, then a real fan could've taken your place!"
>> Because they weren't able to get in

You can tell that they're not really concerned about his manners, but that they're jealous because they weren't able to go.

Don't call any Johnny's talents to perform at the Olympics. It's obvious that these crazy grannies won't be there for the sports events.

When you say bad things about Arashi in front of all these Arashi fans, then you're going to get retribution for that 100% of the time.
But I think that'll be an extremely pleasant reward for a masochistic old man..

Oh, and so these Jani-wotas are now starting to cry about manners, huh LOL

Personalities who came to the the concert on the 21st:
Mikako Tabe, Juri Ueno, Honami Suzuki, Kayoko Kishimoto, Miyuki Oshima, announcer Itoh, Ogu-san, Kazuo Tokumitsu, Rei Kikukawa, JOC President Takeda, judo athlete Tadahiro Nomura, swimmer Kosuke Kitajima, swimmer Ryosuke Irie, weightlifter Miyake, gymnast Rie Tanaka, Natsumi Hoshi, GANTZ producer Satoh, Kazoku Game producer Inada P, VS Arashi producer Masafumi Futagawa.

>> They're obviously aiming for the Tokyo Olympics w
The Olympic Committee will probably approve if they let them bang some Jani-ota middle schooler.

This is so stupid...
There's no point in lashing out at these invited celebrities just because you weren't chosen to attend.

If you're real fans then you should be happy that other popular people came to watch them.

Ishida Taro passed away during the filming of FujiTV autumn 2013 drama "Dokushin Kizoku"

Actor Ishida Taro lost consciousness during the filming of FujiTV's autumn 2013 drama "Dokushin Kizoku" on 21 September in a studio at Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. He was later sent to a hospital within the city and was pronounced dead at 4.24pm on the same day. Ishida was 69 years old and the cause of his death is unknown.

According to FujiTV, Ishida had been in the studio for a filming of one scene in "Dokushin Kizoku" starring SMAP's Kusanagi Tsuyoshi which is scheduled to begin its run from October. Ishida was the guest star for the first episode and played a famous scriptwriter. In the scene filmed around 1pm which involved Kusanagi and Ishida, Kusanagi who plays the CEO of a movie production company tried to persuade Ishida's character to write a script for his movie but kept getting rejected. When Kusanagi found Ishida at a swimming pool, he dived into the pool which was 92cm deep and tried to get Ishida to change his mind. The scene lasted for about 2 minutes. After the filming, Ishida who was dressed in his swimming trunks, was walking to the side of the pool and about to get out when he suddenly lost consciousness. The staff then got Ishida out of the pool and tried to perform first aid on him while waiting for the ambulance to come but the latter still passed away a couple of hours later at the hospital. According to FujiTV, Ishida had performed warm-up exercises before entering the pool and the temperature of the pool water was at 27 degrees Celsius which was neither too cold or too hot. The police has ruled out the likelihood of this being a criminal case or accident since it was likely that Ishida passed away due to some medical condition.

Filming for "Dokushin Kizoku" was suspended on the day of the incident as well as on 22 September. As for what needs to be done for the first episode, there are no concrete plans yet. According to the producer-in-charge, Kusanagi was very shocked to hear about Ishida's demise.

As Ishida was also scheduled to act in NHK's 2014 Taiga "Gunshi Kanbee" as Ogou Yoshitoshi who served the same master as Kanbee during the warring era and that filming is supposed to start from October, NHK has said that they will be making plans in response to Ishida's passing which suggests that they may find another actor to play the role.
