This is a CM that is currently promoting Morning Musume's new single as well as their current lineup. Also it is for MM's 16th anniversary, which I forgot to mention when submitting this post.


Translation for the yellow texts:

I think this whole CM is addressing some of the issues that has been going down in the fandom for awhile. For instance some older generation fans have a hard time adjusting to the change of the music direction as well as to the girls themselves. It's a pretty clever idea to acknowledge Morning Musume's past while talking about the present and thinking about the future.

NEWS' 10th Anniversary Special

Today, September 15, marks the 10th anniversary of NEWS. As part of the celebration, they held NEWS 10th Anniversary Event & Live in Tokyo Dome, which gathered 65,000 people. Today, a streaming video of NEWS' performance of Ai Kotoba at Tokyo Dome will be available to watch on Jehp website from 12am to 11.59pm. For all NEWS fans who can't attend their Tokyo Dome event, you can enjoy watching the uploaded video.

Ai Kotoba is their anniversary song, composed by Tegoshi and written by all NEWS members.

NEWS' message:

Hello, we're NEWS! So today...on the 15th of September we have reached the 10th anniversary for when we formed! Ahh~! Really, being able to get to this stage, it's thanks to our fans...no, it's all thanks to our girlfriends. Cheers! It's exactly 10 years ago when we started. We even had a debut event. But, being able to broadcast a video like this is a rare thing isn't it? Yeah, it hasn't been done before this. It's the first in Johnnys isn't it? Yes, yes.. (Seems like it!) Today, after this it'll play the Tokyo dome song that we wrote. Wow! I'm so happy. This is because we often hear about fans who wanted to attend Tokyo dome but are not able to come and we want them to listen to it too. We want everyone to be able to see this. Yep! Arashi ni Shiyagare Renewal, Female Guests to Appear

Arashi's variety program Arashi ni Shiyagare broadcasted every Saturday 10pm on NTV has been renewed after the show began 3 and a half years ago. The first airing after the renewal on September 14 was broadcasted live and the guest is comedy duo Cream Stew, the same guest that appeared in the pilot episode on April 24 2010. So far the concept of the show was to guess who the guest were and to learn from veteran male guests the steps of formula in life to be taught.

After the renewal from now on the members would be informed of who the guests are beforehand, the guest would bring up a 「topic」 in advance which the members would brainstorm and research together which would be presented during the show. For the first renewal airing the members researched the agenda that Arita of Cream Stew brought up, which is 「Why is Ueda Shinya able to conquer the world?」 Arashi members then investigated numerous past historic episodes of Ueda from Cream Stew and dissolve the mystery of how he is able to take over the industry.

Also on this day viewers participated in the live voting via twitter during the airing, out of two projects suggested by Cream Stew. Between Ueda's 「Arashi members' location shooting in Kumamoto」 and Arita's 「Arashi members popularity general election」. Ueda's proposal was ultimately decided upon the winning of votes.

In the interview carried out immediately after the live broadcast, Ohno commented that 「It was refreshing to be able to know who the guests are beforehand and to create the show together」. Aiba remarked that 「It has been quite a while that we have live broadcast for our regular variety programs, it was over in a flash and i look forward to widen the width of the show with the appearance of female guests」. Matsumoto mentioned that 「I was happy that we are able to include the live performance (for regular broadcasting) and hopefully there would be future opportunities where we can sing and perform in the show」. In addition, when asked regarding female guests whom they want to come on the show, Ninomiya who is known to be a big fan of Takeuchi Yuko said enthusiastically 「When it was decided that she would take on the drama lead role on NTV, i thought "Hooray!". Probably she will come」.

Ueno Juri would appear in the next airing and in the future female guests are also planned to guest.

Ohno Satoshi's Kagi no Kakatta Heya SP Drama

Arashi's leader Ohno Satoshi (32) starring popular drama 「Kagi no Kakatta Heya」 which was broadcasted last year April will be returning next year with a special single episode drama. The story tells of how the leading role who is a maniac of keys and lock solve cases which takes place within enclosed rooms, Ohno's persona of wearing glasses and his signature phrase of 「The enclosed room case is solved」 became a hot topic. After an absence of two years from the drama Ohno was fired up with enthusiasm 「I'm excited in anticipation of what kind of tricks is waiting.」

The series which specializes in enclosed rooms throughout all the episodes has received high evaluation from both within Japan as well as abroad. The drama not only won a sweeping victory throughout all television magazines' grand prix last year, it also received the gold medal award in the entertainment section for "US International Film and Video Festival 2013". In 「MIPCOM2012」 the world's largest content trade fair, it was awarded the grand prize of 「MIPCOM BUYERS’ AWARD for Japanese Drama」. In addition it was also awarded 「My Best TV Award」 in 2013's Galaxy Award Grand Prix which is chosen by viewers' votes.

Based on the original written by novel writer Kishi Yusuke, Ohno reenacts as Enomoto Kei who serves as an employee working in a leading securities company. The drama records an average rating of 16% for all episodes which topped that season drama's ratings, after the broadcast ended immediately the television station received vast numbers of requests for sequels.

The SP drama will be based on Kishi's new work 「murder in the country of mirror」 which is scheduled to be published on November 12, jointly with his unpublished work 「the two enclosed rooms」, setting up a gorgeous story tailored just for the special drama. Filming will begin as from now and Ohno gave his comment 「That Enomoto will be back in front of everyone! I'm excited to find out what kind of formidable opponent will appear this time round and what kind of tricks are waiting. It has been quite a while since the last enclosed room case, I will try my best to remember all my lines desperately in order to solve the mystery faithfully. (laughs)」.

The original cast of Toda Erika (25) and Sato Koichi (52) will also be returning for the SP drama. Ohara producer (35) commented that 「This time as well the unique characteristics of the three individuals will bring forth a piece filled with attractive contents. Please look forward to it.」

Satomi Ishihara (26) and Hideaki Takizawa (31) were reportedly seen together at a high-class yakiniku restaurant in Ebisu in May this year.

"She was with Hideaki Takizawa. I've actually seen the two together a number of times now. When I saw them, Satomi-chan arrived while being surrounded by a number of her staff. Tackey still wasn't at the venue, and she entered a private room. Then 20 or 30 minutes later, Tackey arrived together with a few men and went straight to the private room where Satomi-chan went to. The male staff who were with him clearly looked tense as they were looking around. By the time they left, Satomi-chan and Tackey were standing close to each other as they headed towards the elevator. They looked nothing but lovers at that time." - (regular customer)

"The two always met in private rooms. And they would leave separately in order to camouflage the date. But inside the room, they would always sit next to each other and act sweet without taking notice of what's happening around them. When a restaurant staff member enters the private room, I heard that they were so careful that they'd even stop talking to each other no matter how much they were enjoying. Satomi-chan loves the beef rumen part, and the restaurant staff have seen the two of them sharing a single plate." - (different regular customer)

When the yakiniku shop staff was asked, they admitted that the two have been going to the restaurant.
"Satomi Ishihara-san comes here a lot even when she's alone. There are also times when she comes with Tackey-san."

A showbiz reporter reveals the connection between the two.
"The two of them have been very close friends since starring together in 2005's NHK Taiga drama Yoshitsune. After a tabloid scooped them in 2006 when they saw a stage play together, they were never seen with each other since, leading to break up rumors. But I'm surprised that they were dating while hiding themselves from the public eye. It is easy to hide it when it's a yakiniku date."

But Ishihara has also had her fair share of rumors with men. She was caught kissing Takeru Sato in the after-party of last year's stage play, and was also caught drunk, acting all lovey-dovey with Shun Oguri in spring this year.

"Ishihara will be starring in the autumn drama Koi as a college student who falls in love with a husband and wife. She will be having a kissing scene with the husband, played by Arata Iura (38), and the wife, played by Rena Tanaka (33). It is said that the staff is also bewitched by her acting. She was always known to have her acting reflect what she's experiencing in her private life. She's probably having a good relationship now if this is the case." - (gossip show staff)

Perfume Announces Another Episode of P.T.A. TV!

To celebrate the eighth anniversary of their major label debut, Perfume will be broadcasting a new episode of P.T.A. TV, titled Pa! To Tanoshiku Asobou Live! Vol. 5 on September 21, between 9:00 PM JST to 10:30 PM JST. Non-members will be able to watch the first half hour of the event.

The theme for this episode will be “Let’s thoroughly socialise with P.T.A.!” and it will be held on the same website that broadcasted Vol. 4 earlier this year. Further information can be found on both fan club websites.

it is great to see Yukirin in an acting drama again. Although I am not sure if her role will also have a love interest with Nishikido Ryo I'll just wait for future updates and good translations. Toho has released an appropriately frenetic 90-second trailer for Yukihiko Tsutsumi’s upcoming 2-part movie SPEC ~Close~ Incarnation.

SPEC is based in the same world that was originally created for the TBS police procedural drama “Keizoku” (Unsolved Cases) in 1999. It revolves around a team of investigators tasked with tracking down criminals with special powers. “Close” is said to be the final installment of the SPEC series. It was originally planned as a single release, but the scale proved to be too big for one movie.

The story picks up after a life and death struggle against Ninomae (Ryunosuke Kamiki) which leaves investigators Sebumi (Ryo Kase) and Toma (Erika Toda) severely injured. Plot information has been kept tightly under wraps so far, but back in March it was revealed that Osamu Mukai and Yuko Oshima will play two mysterious characters in white and in May a short character video was released featuring glimpses the cast presented in rapid succession.

In addition, early promotional materials from the Cannes Film Market suggest the film’s plot involves the third secret of Fátima with the fate of humanity in the balance.

The first part, Zen no Hen, will be released in Japan on November 1, 2013. The second part, Kō no Hen, will be released on November 29.

Kojima Haruna takes the center position for AKB48's 33rd single

AKB48 performed their upcoming 33rd single titled "Heart Ereki" which is set for release on October 30th, at the opening for their Janken Tournament event (held at the Nippon Budokan on the 18th), and it was revealed that Kojima Haruna took the center position for the single.


This is the first time for Kojima who is one of the first generation members, to be the center, and when it was announced, a stir and great shout of joy arose from the 12,000 of audience.

Kojima told the audience, "I don't even know how this happened...but I will do my best!"


The concept of this "Heart Ereki" is a band, and each of 16 Senbatsu members have a nickname.

The single will have 9 different versions; 4 regular editions, 4 limited editions, and a theater edition.

Below is the list of 16 Senbatsu members along with their nickname for the single.

You Yokoyama (Kanjani8) and Ryoko Nakano, an older model, are living together!!? (Shuukan Bunshun)

Shuukan Bunshun has revealed that You Yokoyama (32), the eldest member of Kanjani8 has been living together with an older model.

This was apparently discovered because of a water leakage incident at a tower apartment in Minato-ku. In the early morning of March 31, the tenant right beneath Yokoyama's apartment woke up due to water leaking strongly from his ceiling. The water never stopped leaking and they had to resort to breaking a hole open in the ceiling in order to take the water out.

"We're not sure if that was the reason, but this incident was reinvestigated later on. And you'd expect the tenant upstairs to apologize for this, but he never came. And the real estate agent just kept saying that they 'are not allowed to disclose personal information of [their] clients' when I asked about the tenant living upstairs" - (resident)

But according to the investigation reports later on, the name indicated on the records was Yokoyama's real name, Kimitaka Yokoyama. Beside his name was the name of a model who was living together with him.

Hiroshi Yamauchi, the Japanese businessman who transformed Nintendo from a playing cards company into a video game giant, has died at the age of 85.

Yamauchi became Nintendo’s president in 1949. He began to pioneer console gaming in the late 1970s, becoming personally involved in the design of many games. However, the company did not have an international hit until it took up designer Shigeru Miyamoto’s Donkey Kong (1981), which earned Nintendo a global reputation.

Yamauchi relinquished all posts in Nintendo by 2005 but remained its largest shareholder and one of Japan’s wealthiest men, with a fortune estimated at over $2 billion.
