The completion screening event of movie"Hidamari no Kanojo" was held on 29 August which was attended by the leads Arashi's Matsumoto Jun and Ueno Juri aswell as the director Miki Takahiro. The movie will be shown in cinemas from 12 October. Miki revealed that the reason why he chose Matsumoto to appear in his movie was that the latter usually appeared to be quite strongheaded and blowing hot and cold on TV but Matsumoto has a natural smile and is considerate towards his guests on TV so he hoped to show this side of Matsumoto to the fans. As for Ueno, Miki said that the works she had been in so far never portrayed her beauty so he wanted to project this side of her through the film.
The movie which is based on the novel by Koshigaya Osamu that had sold 350,000 copies to date, features Matsumoto as Kosuke, a newbie sales department employee who reunites with Mao (Ueno) after 10 years but their relationship is thwarted by a secret she is hiding.
