The official website for Tatsushi Omori’s The Ravine of Goodbye (Sayonara Keikoku) has been updated with a YouTube embed of the film’s trailer, which had previously been available exclusively on Yahoo! Eiga.
In the movie, a child was found murdered very close to the home of Shunsuke Ozaki (Shima Onishi) and his common-law wife Kanako (Yoko Maki). Police keep a close eye on Shunsuke because their main suspect in the case is a woman who claims to have had an affair with him.
Meanwhile, a weekly magazine reporter named Watanabe (Nao Omori) begins his own investigation and digs up information on a 15-year-old old case in which Shunsuke was the assailant in a rape and Kanako was the victim. Gradually, the nature of their relationship is revealed.
“The Ravine of Goodbye” is part of next month’s Cannes Film Market and will be released by Phantom Film in Japan on June 22, 2013.
