*SPR48, AKB sister group is born in Sapporo! Activities to start in the north this 2015!*
Recently; Rumors about SPR48, AKB48's alleged new sister group that will represent the Hokkaido region, surfaced and buzz within the 48 fandom because of the commercial video and the registered domain but it died when a new unit which is composed of Kenkyuusei(Research Student) was announced believing that the new unit that will announced in Sapporo was that unit and it was just announced earlier during the Fukouka concert.
But this 29th, it was revealed in a sports broadcast interview that a new sister group of AKB48 will be born in Hokkaido, Sapporo. The group name is "SPR48".
A local conglomerate has already introduced themselves as a partner. They are aiming to open a dedicated theater this coming Spring 2015 and will start recruiting members as a start of activities.
Guest former ace Maeda Atsuko (22) who graduated in August 27th last year will be performing at the Sapporo Dome concert of AKB48, to give a boost to the new groups' formation.
This sister group of AKB48 is born north of Japan. The Sapporo metropolis has a population of 1.93 million people, it is a promising candidate for a new business development, local companies have lined up as a partner for the start-up project . According to local officials, they were aiming for a spring debut on 2015.
But some have expressed that the news was only intended to draw more fans to attend AKB's very first Sapporo Dome concert and there will be no SPR48 announcement during the event. Whether true or not, it will all be revealed this July 31, 2013 (tomorrow Wednesday).
