Funky Monkey Babys has announced that their concerts at Tokyo Dome on June 1st and 2nd would be the last shows for the band. More than 450,000 copies of their last greatest hits album, 'Funky Monkey Babys LAST BEST', released on March 27th, has already been shipped out. If progress as it is, they'd have shipped out more than 500,000 copies by the time of their Tokyo dome concert.

The band, who would be retiring at their peak, released their tickets publicly on April 27th, which sold out instantly. Moreover, more than 600,000 members of the fan club applied for advanced ticket sales.

If we assume that 1 show at Tokyo Dome would hold 50,000 people, it means that they'd have to hold 12 shows to reach 600,000. Furthermore, the band's hometown, Hachioji City has a population of about 600,000 people (as of April 1st, 2013). It is a bit mysterious to think that the same number of people applied for tickets as the number of people who live in their hometown. It is amazing to see how many fans regretting the band's break up.
