Toho has released a new 90-second trailer for Toshiaki Toyoda’s Crows EXPLODE, the third feature film based on Hiroshi Takahashi’s high school delinquent fighting manga series.
Picking up where Takashi Miike’s 2009 film Crows Zero II left off, the new installment takes place about a month after former protagonist Genji Takiya (Shun Oguri) graduates from Suzuran High School. With the new school year comes a brand-new battle for delinquent supremacy.
With the top spot now vacant, Toru Goura (Yuya Yagira) would seem to be closest to filling the power vacuum created by Genji’s departure, with a pretender named Kenichi Ogisu (Ryo Katsuji) being the closest he has to a rival and a new third-year student named Kohei Yamashita (ELLY) looking to make his mark as a lone wolf.
However, third-year transfer student Kazeo Kaburagi (Masahiro Higashide) and first-year student Ryohei Kagami (Taichi Saotome) soon enter the fray, completely reshaping the landscape at Suzuran. Meanwhile, a major conflict with rival Kurosaki Industrial High School looms in their immediate future.
“Crows EXPLODE” will be released in Japan on April 12, 2014.
